Video Guitar Lessons Online - Sure-Fire Tips to Help You Find the Best

Video guitar lessons online to ensure your quick learning should contain:

1. Short lessons that are easy to understood, with a few homework exercises for consolidation

Your brain and fingers won't resist long lessons every day. You need time to consolidate what you've learned, so the amount of information that you get at any one time should be just enough to be assimilated and well practiced before the next lesson. This will make the lessons fun and easy going.

2. A well-structured course

Make sure that lesson 2 follows lesson 1 in a logical, flowing manner, so you don't feel like a child in a candy shop. The lessons should be structured to help discipline you to do one thing at a time ...do it well ...and then move on.

3. Lessons featuring more than just one teacher, so you can learn from the best.

No one teacher can play every style equally as well. If you find lessons featuring many teachers, you'll be better taught in the style you're looking to play, because they will have a specialist for that very style who knows all the shortcuts to mastering it.

4. Lessons to get at least a minimal theory backing.

Whether you play for fun, and especially if you are thinking of going professional, a good knowledge of theory will open doors for you; -not just for your resume, but it really helps if you know how to express yourself to the band in musical terms to get a piece sounding like you want. If you don't realize that a certain part or song is in a 12/8 time signature, for example, how are you going to know what the bass and drums should be doing? -let alone explain it to them!

5. Different angle shots of the exercise being played by the teacher, if possible

Just one shot helps a lot, but what about thumb position? If multi-angle shots are not available, make sure you can at least see both hands working at the same time so very little is overlooked and you don't get into bad playing habits which would limit your progress.

6. Examinations or tests along the way to track your progress, and a certificate on the completion of the course ...Unfortunately, this is not always available.

You may think that you're doing it right or wrong, but it's up to a professional teacher, or a well designed test, to evaluate your progress. This way you know what needs more working on ...And if the online video guitar program has certificates to hand you at the end of the course or each section, you will be taken more seriously when looking for jobs in high paying working bands, as a studio musician, or on TV, etc.

7. Access to quality backing tracks for practice

How are you going to know how you can apply what you've learned in a real band situation? These tracks are very important, so you can realize when you're going off beat. It's also a good way to get the right 'feel' for the techniques that you've learned.

8. Contact information

There are times when you'll need to contact the teacher for help on something that you don't understand or is not sounding right. Make sure you have access to your tutors before you buy.
